Technologies

Technology programs at Lyndale Secondary College offer a well-balanced education involving creative thinking through investigating, designing, producing analysing and evaluating various products. Students develop problem solving skills, as well as an awareness and understanding of social and environmental issues.

Through the practical application of technologies, students develop manual dexterity and coordination through a ‘hands on approach’. They use a variety of tools, equipment and materials and learn how to do this in a safe manner.

Through its hands on approach, the subject engages and motivates young people, providing them with learning experiences to develop skills that are transferable to family and home, constructive leisure activities, community contribution and industry. It also encompasses the use of computers to help solve technological problems that are common in the work place and in the home.

Technology studies provide students with authentic learning challenges that foster curiosity, confidence, persistence, innovation, creativity, respect and cooperation.
