Instrumental Music is a co-curricular activity which provides students with the opportunity to learn a musical instrument with a focus on ensemble performance. Each year our music students have the opportunity of performing in a number of bands and ensembles within the school and throughout the wider community. Highlights of each year include bands competing in the Battle of the Bands and Festivals in the local area including The Dandenong WalkFest. Both of these events involve top music schools from across Australia.
This ensemble is for beginner band students who have had little or no experience on band instruments.
This ensemble is for students with one or two years playing experience
The Senior Concert Band is for more advanced students with two or more years playing experience. Entry is by audition.
Students may wish to broaden their performance experience by joining one of our stage bands (ensembles of approximately fifteen to twenty students with a focus on jazz). Entry to the Junior and Senior Stage Bands is by audition, and must be taken in conjunction with participation in at least one of the previously listed bands. Repertoire is broad and students will have a chance to assist in the choice of performance material.
All students with an interest in singing are welcome to join this ensemble.
