Welcome back
I hope everyone had a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday. As College Principal I look forward to joining with students, teachers and parents for another exciting and productive year of teaching and learning at Lyndale Secondary College.
I am pleased to report that the college continues to build upon our successes. Our 2021 VCE results were not only excellent but outstanding considering the last two years of remote learning and is a testament to the dedication of our wonderful staff and the resilience of our students.
Our 2021 College Dux, Visothpong Chhoam, received an outstanding ATAR score of 98.15 Some other amazing results achieved by our Class of 21 are:
SUCCESSFULLY qualifying for the VCE …. 99.5% of the enrolled students
SUCCESSFULLY qualifying for the Senior VCAL …. 100% of the enrolled students
SUCESSFULLY progressing to positive post-secondary school destinations in University, TAFE, Apprenticeships, Employment … 99.5% of all Year 12 students
A great achievement, considering the challenging year we all experienced.
A very warm welcome to all our new students and their families. You are embarking on a wonderful learning journey, which will be enhanced by always trying your personal best.
Lyndale Secondary College provides a learning community where we all respect and care for each other, always working cooperatively as a team. In addition, our college provides you with magnificent facilities and resources which are yours to use to maximize your learning opportunities. Please value these and treat with respect.
We have had an extremely successful start to Term 1 with four weeks already completed I could not be more pleased with the start of our year.
Walking through the school, students appear very settled and well and truly into the routine of school. The tone is impressive.
Academic results are achieved by small daily effort. It is not really about putting in a huge effort just before a test or exam. Daily effort to remain organised, listening attentively in class, taking detailed notes and regular revision, all contribute to terrific learning outcomes.
Stage 4 Building Works
The start of the new school year also saw the commencement of the next stage of our building works. The old middle school building was demolished and the Devco construction crew are busy preparing the site for the construction of the new Senior Sub school building. This building will house twelve classroom, open study areas and an assortment of offices.

COMPASS
It is so important for everyone to keep up to date with communication from the school. Compass newsfeeds and posts need to be read, as does the newsletter.
A partnership with parents is part of the Lyndale magic and clear communication helps everyone be on the same page.
COVID
The mask rules have changed for everyone this weekend and secondary students will not be mandated to wear masks. However, a few staff and students may want to continue with this protective measure and that is absolutely OK.
More rapid antigen tests have been distributed to students and we ask that testing continue to slow the spread of the virus.
Air purifiers were delivered and installed in all learning areas before students returned and we have a fortnightly schedule for changing filters.
SCHOOL CONTRIBUTIONS
I cannot emphasise enough how important these are for the running of our school to a standard above and beyond!
The environment has been our focus over many years and students love their surroundings but also the new furniture.
Parents’ generous contributions have enabled all the facilities to be the best they can be for the students in our care and also for the additional services to be provided like our sick bay.
I know everything is voluntary and I am grateful for everyone’s generous support.
The Finance Office is located in our administration building
Our College
At the start of the year, I revisit the College vision and values with students, staff, parents and the community. These are the key drivers of everything we do and form the foundations for our Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) which outlines the key goals and strategies for 2022
Vision At Lyndale Secondary College we are proud of our diverse community and inspire our learners of today to be their best in readiness for the world of tomorrow
