YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE

Year 10 Work experience is taking place from Monday 21st November – Friday 25th November

All year 10 students have been supplied with copious amounts of information to support them in the process of obtaining their work experience placements. It is the student’s responsibility to find their own work placements. Work Experience forms should have been returned to the careers office by now and if they haven’t, this must be done so ASAP.
I have attached the forms here if any student has misplaced them.
Students are also aware that they need to complete the safe at work modules prior to going out on work experience.

Please be aware that no timetables classes will be running for students in this week as the year 10 program is work experience and staff members will be required to go out on work placement visits.

Year 10’s final week of school will be from Monday 28th November to Friday 2nd December when they will have a Year 11 induction. The following week some students will be going on the year 10 camp. Students not attending camp are not required at school.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Senior Sub School

GENERAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST TRIAL

General Achievement Test – Trial October 18th – Year 10  & Year 11 Students

The Australian Council for Educational research (ACER) is working with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) to trial content for the General Achievement Test (GAT), which all Victorian students will undertake in the course of completing their senior secondary studies.

Trialling involves students in school responding to test content and is important to ensure that the assessment is appropriate and performs as expected. It is for this reason that our school is supporting this important work
Trialling for the GAT is being conducted in schools across Victoria during October 2022. The information collected is only to support the development of the GAT -individual school or student results will not be provided. The trial does not contribute to any students’ results.

Students do not need to do specific study or revision for the trial. The trial has been designed to minimise impact on students and will require approximately one hour of their time. Students may need to respond to literacy, numeracy or writing questions. The trial will be conducted using the VCAA’s online system and students should bring their devices, a dictionary, and a calculator.

If you have any further questions, please contact the school

Students will need to bring a fully charged laptop and pen and paper to the test.
Login details will be available to students upon their start time.

Date for this event: Tuesday 18th October. Year 11’s – During Period 1, Year 10’s – During Period 2.
